Occasionally Off The Record is asked by our clients or by external agencies to write reports, attend meetings, or share information on the progress made in counselling or other services. We are not normally in a position to do this because of our duty of confidentiality to our clients and because counsellors are not trained in the specialist areas of diagnosis or social work assessment. However, we can in some circumstances, and on receipt of written consent from the client(s) who attended a service, provide brief information about the dates and number of sessions attended.

Unfortunately we can’t admit anyone into our counselling or groupwork service until they turn 11, however, people can join our young carers group from 8 years old

We offer 6 sessions as standard, on the rare occasion that’s needed we can increase this, but this is on a case by case basis

Yes, absolutely! There’s no fixed order in which they should be undertaken and the group work courses are designed to complement 1-2-1 counselling

There’s no straight answer to that question, there are too many factors involved; time of year, age of young person, their counselling need and the type of service delivery
